Paper House Games just dropped 6 Australian-made titles on floppy disks

I’ve been waiting for the day when I could say “floppies” in a cup. Thank you, Paper House.

Paper House Games, a Melbourne-based video game studio currently working on the upcoming title Wood & Weatherhas just released a series of limited edition collectible 3.5-inch floppy disks featuring the work of 6 local game developers.

The studio, which also serves as a hub for local game development in Melbourne, has also released a ton of ‘Videogames’ merchandise that is so beautifully dull. While the tote bag is described as “little crappy” in the store title, as the owner of the bag, I’d argue that it’s actually quite good.

This feels similar to artists who release music on cassette tapes these days, and I love it. Not only is it a fun way to collect a game, but it also supports the great work that local game developers in Australia are doing.

Since this is just Series 1, there’s a chance we’ll see more floppy disks for other locally made games in the store soon. So if you don’t see your favorite Aussie game there, just wait. In the meantime, here’s what Paper House Games has to offer in terms of floppy disks and merch.
