Here’s a quick summary of the latest COVID-19 statistics from each Australian jurisdiction today – Sunday 7 August.

Victoria

There are three more COVID-19 deaths in the state.

There are 660 cases in hospital, 40 of which are in intensive care and 11 requiring ventilatory support.

There were 5,114 new cases today.

The state has recorded 15 additional COVID-19 deaths.

There are 2,181 cases in hospital, 57 of which are in intensive care.

10,027 new cases have been announced today.

Northern Territory

Another 159 COVID cases have been registered in the territory.

There are 40 people in hospital, three of whom are in the ICU.

There were no more deaths from the virus.

There are 669 people in hospital and 29 in the ICU.

2,649 new cases were registered.

The state does not report death rates over the weekend.

Four more people have died from COVID in the state.

There are 83 patients in hospital with the virus, one of which is in the ICU.

527 new cases were reported.
