“I would like to get the job. I know there’s a lot of speculation about whether I did the time or did the job, but I’m passionate about the club,” he said.

“I’ve been working a lot in football over the last 12 months and basically refocused myself on the game, back coaching, looking back at work, back training, spending time abroad with some of the best coaches in the world.

“So if I get the chance, it would be great.

“Redemption is a big thing, but for me I just love the Essendon Football Club, it’s been a part of my life forever and I think I can make it better.”

Yze was interviewed for the second time on Wednesday, leading to speculation that the great demons, who have coached in Hawthorn with Alastair Clarkson and Melbourne, is in the box to replace Rutten, who was unceremoniously let loose after a dramatic and ugly final. two weeks. this season.

“Adam Yze was interviewed today for a second interview in Essendon – I don’t think it’s a secret now”, The Herald Suns Mark Robinson continued AFL 360.

“I don’t know how many other people they plan to interview. In my opinion, Brad Scott is still waiting until after the grand finale to decide if he will go through the process.

“Obviously, if Adam Yze gets a second interview, I think it would put him in the favour for the Essendon job.”

The ages Caroline Wilson agreed that Yze was the favourite, but added that current Dons assistant Blake Caracella could also be a late contender when he returns from Europe on Thursday.

“James Hird will not get the job, and the advice to James is that he should do an internship elsewhere,” Wilson said of 9 Footy Classified.

“Adem Yze is clearly the favourite.

“The club has spoken to (him); the club has suggested to him, if he gets the job, possibly bring Mark Williams to the club with him.

“Of those four on the left (Yze, Brendon Lade, Dean Solomon, James Hird) he is the big favourite.

“Brad Scott could throw in his hat next week, Essendon has spoken to him, he won’t do anything until after the premiership is done and won, but Adem Yze may have blown them away, who knows.

She added: “There is a wrinkle here, however, Blake Caracella, an assistant coach from Essendon, who was part of the assessment, has been interviewed.

“He’s in Europe, he’ll be back in the next 24 hours, it’s my understanding that on his return he’ll probably throw his hat into the senior coaching ring. I’m not sure if Blake Caracella is seriously considered for the job, I Not sure how he got out of the review, I know he’s been interviewed twice including by Brendan McCartney and Jordan Lewis.”
